Software

PAK is test bench measurement system versatile which is efficient and strong in measuring, analyzing, evaluating and management of data. The PAK software is a compact, highly integrated and versatile system for the measurement of dynamic parameters, ranging from slow bandwidth thermocouples to high bandwidth sound and pressure. It provides quick results, good graphical representation  for results enhancing the analysis capability.

1. Base Analysis

All analyses are based on the recorded time signals which, depending on the task in hand, are recorded by using different sampling rates. Spectral analyses permit detailed analyses that involve transforming signals from the time to the frequency domain, making observations of overall levels or doing third-octave analyses.

Base analysis includes:

  • Recording of throughput data
  • Signature Analysis
  • Sound Level Detector
  • Octave Analysis.

2. Rotational Analysis

Rotational machinery like combustion engines and electric motors, turbines and other motor units such as turbochargers can cause undesirable noises and vibrations. The overall noise and vibration emitted by rotational machinery comprises the acoustic contributions from all the various individual components such as the drive shafts, gear units, bearings, belt drives and chain drives. The user can assign annoying noises and vibrations to the single components by means of the different rotation analyses in the PAK software.

Rotational Analysis Includes

  • Order Analysis
  • Torsional Vibrational Analysis
  • Crank Angle Analysis
  • Combustion Analysis
  • Dynamic Balancing

3. Structural Analysis

Structural behavior of any component after application of excitation or load is an important factor for analysis. Analysis objects are artificially excited to determine the vibro-acoustic characteristics such as the degree of absorption, reflection or transmission. The transfer functions are derived from the ratios between the response signal and excitation signal.

Structural Analysis includes:

  • Impact Measurement
  • Shaker Measurement
  • Operational Deflection Shape
  • Transfer Path Analysis.
  • MIMO

4. Acoustic Analysis

Technical acoustics and vibration control technology are concerned with the physical origins of sound and vibrations, and their propagation in air and solid structures.

Acoustic Analysis includes:

  • Sound Intensity
  • Sound Power
  • Sound Localisation
  • Reverberation & Impedance tube
  • Sound Design

5. Sound Quality

Sound, just like the vibration behavior of structures, is no longer a random feature of a product nowadays. Instead, it is a crucial success factor which can be specifically modified at the development stage of a product.

The PAK software provides all the necessary tools to development engineers so that they can construct products with their own, unmistakable vibration characteristics in an efficient and goal-oriented manner. During the sound design process, freely definable filters can be used to shape several possible sounds of the later product which can then be assessed by testers in hearing comparisons.

Sound Quality includes

  • Psycho acoustic Analysis
  • Articulation Index
  • Loudness, Sharpness
  • Tonality
  • Operational Transfer Path Analysis

6. Control & Monitoring

The measuring systems deployed in testbench environments have to be robust and efficient with the data acquisition as well as with the online analysis. They must also offer a broad scope of capabilities for communicating with other testbench control systems.

The PAK software for data acquisition can be optimized for the testbench driver so that only the information relevant to the test process is passed on.

Operating PAK in monitoring mode allows the use of additional monitoring options, for instance for defining the limit values for sound levels for selected frequencies.
